Police say store clerk returned fire, killed would-be robber before dying (NV)--"William L. Burhoe, her husband of 16 years, was gunned down late Saturday night at the Super Mart convenience store were he worked as a clerk. But before he died, the 77-year-old shot and killed the would-be robber."

Contrary to the media's sterotyping of gun owners as uncoordinated baffons who couldn't hold onto a gun to save their life, I can't recall seeing a story where someone's gun was taken away from them and used against them by a criminal but I see stories like this all the time, where people defending themselves take the crooks gun's away from them.

Doesn't exactly fit the narrative does it?

Attempted Robbery Ends in Shootout (SC)--"Officials said the gunfire erupted as the three attempted robbery suspects were about to leave the restaurant at about 3 a.m. Saturday morning. The suspects were shot by two employees, who were armed with guns. They were taken to local hospitals."

Obama's nomination to the high court not exactly gun friendly.

It's Arkansas's other adorable liberal, John Brummett who suggests among other things, that due process is not all it's cracked up to be.

"So the credo becomes that we should let the gun go free, because that’s what the Second Amendment requires, and arrest the user, but only after he has deployed a weapon we made readily available to him to render a person or persons dead."

Umm, yeah John that's how we do it here in America, we don't arrest people for a crime they haven't committed and we don't strip away civil liberties because a secret government list you can't scruitinize say's you are somebody dangerous.

Read the whole thing, it's just filled with pro rights sentiments like this gem, "It’s not the owning of it. It’s only the criminally intended use of it. You see. Or not. That’s the same logic by which gun rights extremists oppose restrictions on the manufacture and distribution of automatic assault weapons suitable for urban gang warfare to enforce the drug culture. It’s not that the gun is designed to fire in a way that enhances the multiplicity and efficiency of human killing. It’s that the gun’s function is irrelevant until a person engages that function."

Of course the N.Y. Times thinks you should be denied your due process rights because your name might appear on a list that cannot be reviewed and that is kept secret.

Holdup victim kills robber along Dunn Road (MO) --"As the robber rifled through the wallet, the man who'd been robbed shot the robber to death, police say. He died at the scene. The robber was a man about 20 years old, said Capt. Gregg Hall of the Hazelwood Police Department."

Homeowner shoots, kills intruder in Northeast (TX) --"During the struggle, Paul Daw shot the man multiple times with a handgun. He was taken to Beaumont Army Medical Center, where he later died .."

Man shoots pet dog during attack on daughter (IN)--"Schafer told police he and Krista's older sister succeeded momentarily in getting the dog away from Krista but when it started after her again he shot it with a .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun."
